Father of murdered teen shouts 'coward' at accused

Cayleb Hough's remains were discovered in a shallow mineshaft in March
The father of a murdered teen has called one of the men accused of his son’s killing a "slimy coward" during a Melbourne court appearance.

Cayleb Hough's father leapt to his feet on Thursday morning, telling the 27-year-old McKinnon man, who was charged on Wednesday night, that he was a coward and he had better have protection.

"Every dog has his day and you're going to get it," Cayleb's father said before a friend led him from the Melbourne Magistrates Court.

The 17-year-old’s remains were found in a Bacchus Marsh mineshaft on March 10 after he went missing on December 20, 2015.

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad arrested a 36-year-old man in Collingwood and a 27-year-old man in Gellibrand.

Cayleb’s family held a memorial service for him in late April.
